Public Safety Institute for Technology (PsiTek) was a newly formed not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing homeland security by providing integrated technology, programs, and information to the nation's public safety agencies. While the new organization had defined its high-level mission, it needed to refine its business model, prioritize its service offerings, and define a plan to create the organization.
Excella
worked with PsiTek's management to clarify the mission and
prioritize the service offerings based on the relative value to
PsiTek's customers. Excella then identified
the competencies required to provide each service and recommended
approach to create each competency (i.e. build or partner).
Finally, Excella defined the overall concept of operations and
business plan for the institute.
Based on the clarified business
plan, PsiTek is on track to secure $20 million in federal funding
and $1 million in state
funding.
