Our Centers of Excellence
Centers of Excellence are teams of Excella subject matter experts who help us get better at what we do – service delivery for clients.
Improving our service delivery and enhancing our service offering are fundamental to Excella’s success. Excella’s Centers of Excellence achieve these objectives in many different ways. The Centers of Excellence give our teams and clients access to deep expertise. Our clients get recommendations from our experts in the field on techniques and technologies that could help them. In addition, because Excella bases its service delivery approach on industry best practices, our Centers of Excellence share these best practices and "lessons learned" across the firm so we can apply them on all our projects.
Our Centers of Excellence also provide professional development opportunities for our employees. Our employees learn from experts, take part in custom training, and get valuable industry certifications. All of these activities improve our employees’ already superior perspective, experience, and skills.
Excella has six Centers of Excellence supporting our teams and clients.
- Agile Center of Excellence
The Agile Center of Excellence supports our teams and clients using Agile processes. Our Certified Scrum Masters and Scrum Practitioners use Agile processes for their own work and help clients interested in adopting Agile figure out where to start.
- Business Analysis Center of Excellence
The Business Analysis Center of Excellence supports our employees and accounts by helping align our requirements management processes with the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Body of Knowledge.
- Java Center of Excellence
The Java Center of Excellence provides support for client initiatives that involve application development using Java and Java technologies. This is done through member collaboration, presentations, discussions, mentoring, reviews and providing best practices.
- Microsoft Center of Excellence
The Microsoft Center of Excellence supports our projects using Microsoft products and technologies, especially SharePoint and the .NET platform. Excella holds a silver Application Development competency in the Microsoft Partner Network and is a Platinum Sponsor of the Capital Area .NET Users Group.
- Project Management Center of Excellence
The Project Management Center of Excellence supports our program and project management engagements and helps our teams address the unique challenges of managing projects in the Federal Government. We have many certified Six Sigma practitioners and Project Management Institute-certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs).
- Business Intelligence Center of Excellence
The Business Intelligence (BI) Center of Excellence helps our clients transform data into useful, actionable information, using the best suited BI techniques and technologies. We have expertise in data processing, data warehousing and data visualization.
