The Initiative is a component of the Office of Personnel Management’s e-Gov strategy, which is using technology to better track and manage federal employees’ training, clearances, and skills over the course of their careers in the U.S. government.
Excella’s Conceptual Data Model is being used in EHRI’s efforts to define a Target Data Object Definition (TDOD) for the HR Line-of-Business Task Force.
What’s more, organizations partnering with a given agency--including those within the government, as well as contractors and other partners external to it--stand to benefit from the designation of common IT solutions that adhere to e-Gov guidelines and are based on best practices.
When information technology is harnessed to make government run more efficiently, citizens stand to gain by means of improved services realized through business process improvements.
