. The program was a great
experience for all involved,
and Excella plans to continue this program in the years to come.
Over the course of the 10-week program, the intern worked onsite
at the Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian
Personnel Management Service (CPMS) as part of the Human Resources-Business Information and Technology
Solutions team. His role was to ensure all of DoD’s public
websites were compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act,
which
requires that all public
electronic material be accessible to those with disabilities.
This work was vital to the success of the larger project with DoD.
In addition to his onsite client work, the intern participated
in Excella’s
recently launched Excella University – an internal professional
development program focused on building consulting core competencies.
When asked about
his summer experience, the intern said, “Excella is one of those
few companies whose sole purpose for its interns is to help them grow
both personally
and professionally. Numerous consultants took the time to share
with me their experiences as a consultant and give me unbiased career
advice.” Excella
employees were equally excited to have this intern on staff and
look forward to continuing the internship program next summer.
