Excella To Support U.S. Department of Health & Human Services

Excella Consulting, an Arlington-based provider of Agile software development, will partner with the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) to create digital data solutions for the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG). Under a joint venture with NTIS through the U.S. Department of Commerce, Excella will develop data tools to help the OIG combat Medicare-Medicaid fraud, waste and abuse, and improve its open data capabilities.

Excella will support the OIG in an effort to modernize its data platform to better serve the public. The team will help HHS adopt modern technology best practices, such as Agile and DevOps, and leverage open source technology and cloud computing to integrate critical IT functions across multiple mission-critical functions and geographic regions. Excella will also implement advanced data analytics solutions, incorporating information from multiple sources to create data visualization and data management tools that will improve decision-making capabilities in support of the OIG’s strategic objectives.

“Effective, efficient, and focused use of available data is of critical importance to achieving the OIG’s mission,” said Dave Neumann, Partner and leader of Excella’s federal practice. “Excella’s position as a market leader in Agile transformation, coupled with our expertise using cutting-edge technologies to deliver digital solutions, makes us uniquely qualified to support HHS in their mission to assist the health care industry and protect the American citizenry from healthcare fraud and abuse.”
