Excella Wins Honorable Mention in Uber Hackathon

We are psyched to congratulate Excella Managing Consultant and Python Developer Dave Garber on his win in the Uber Request Hackathon! Dave’s app, TravelGreen, was awarded an Honorable Mention by the Uber team.

The contest challenged developers to build tools using Ubers API that “surprise, delight, and engage” users in new and exciting ways. Participants were judged on the design, originality, utility, and use of the API.

TravelGreen helps Uber riders track and offset their carbon emissions right from their smartphone. Environmentally conscious customers can use the app to purchase the exact amount of verified carbon offsets needed to offset your Uber history – helping you ride carbon free! Dave built the app using Javascript, Flask, Heroku, Cloudflare, and New Relic.
